Robert C. “Toby” Tobias resided at the Children's Homes from March 1934 to October 1941 and graduated from Patton School in 1944
Robert C. “Toby” Tobias, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born Sunday, August 19, 1923 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Hattie (Harrison) Tobias. He was married to Helen M. (Bonsall) Tobias until her passing on Saturday, September 10, 1994.
A Veteran of WWII, Toby proudly served with the 3rd Army in an artillery unit. After graduating from the Patton School at Masonic Village and serving in WWII, Toby’s remaining work life was as a carpenter and an electrician. His hobbies included sailing and woodworking. He was a charter member of the Roosters Workshop at Masonic Village.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as Toby’s extended family and caring friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, October 21, 2016 in Sell Chapel at Masonic Village, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Toby’s honor to The Masonic Children’s Home Endowment Fund, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
