"Twilight"

"Twilight"
by: Don Xander

It's the twilight time of evening,
Before the sun goes down.
I like to watch and listen,
To all the sights and sounds.
There's a sweet smell in the air,
When comes the gentle breeze,
It brushes back my hair,
And stirs the mighty trees.

I look to the horizon,
The sun is giving way.
And now the night is coming,
It brings a proud display.
Soon will come the shadows,
The stars and yes the moon.
The chirping of the cricket,
The crying of the loon.

For now my eyes are cast on,
The setting of the sun,
The shades of orange and yellow,
Before the day is done.
I bid adieu to daytime,
I say hello to night,
So clear is it this evening,
The stars will be so bright.

It's the twilight of the evening
And the sun is going down.
I love to see the vista,
Where the skyline meets the ground.
There's just one thing more beautiful
The start of a new day.
For it means , but one thing....
Another twilight on the way.
