Kim Challenger, 70, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday, August 13th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born in Pottsville on May 14, 1954, he was a son of the late John M. & Ida (Helt)Challenger.
Married 45 years, he was the husband of Donna J. (Corrado) Challenger. The couple met at the Cressona Pool and were friends for ten years prior to marrying.
Kim was a 1972 graduate of Patton Masonic Trade School, Elizabethtown.
He had been employed for 18 years by the former Pottsville Bleach & Dye, and retired from the former Cressona Aluminum, now Hydro after 29 years of service as a dye repairman.
In addition to his wife he is also survived by his sister, Judy Challenger; brother, Jack Challenger, husband of Joan; sister-in-law, Diane Corrado; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his sister, Jean; brother, Jimmy; beloved dog, Captain, and cats, Tabatha, & Sabastian.
Kim loved classic cars, especially his "baby", a 1972 super blue Dodge Challenger. He belonged to the car club "Mopar Madness of the Lehigh Valley" and enjoyed attending the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals events.
He was a member of the Cressona Lodge No. 222 Free & Accepted Masons.
An avid sports fan, Kim was a devoted Notre Dame football fan, cheering every Saturday in the fall for the Fighting Irish and attended several games in Indiana. He also supported Schuylkill Haven High School football. Kim loved all animals (especially cats and dogs), Disney World, and golfing and fishing.
