Ebert-Lutz, Susan

Susan Ebert-Lutz was a resident of the Masonic Children's Homes from 1962 through 1976

Susan K. Lutz, 56, of Reeders, died unexpectedly, Friday, January 20, 2017 at home. She was the loving wife of Douglas Lutz, with whom she shared 14 years of marriage, but best friends for many more.

Born in Cheltenham, PA, she was the daughter of the late Sutton and Jean (Gardner) Ebert. Following the death of her mother at the age of six, she was placed in the Masonic Children’s Home in Elizabethtown. It was there that she was taken under the loving wings of Ronald and Mildred Goretzke becoming their ‘adopted daughter’.

Sue was a devoted nurse who took great pride specializing in geriatric care. She often put her patients’ needs ahead of own, and often soothing others pains before caring for herself. The only thing she loved more than nursing were her children, and the menagerie of animals that surrounded the family attributed to how much she care for all living creatures.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, John W. Rimmer, III of Massachusetts, Jeremy Rimmer and his wife, Sherry of Bethlehem and Ivy A. Lutz at home; brothers, Louis Ebert of Cary, North Carolina, and Dwayne Goretzke and Denny Goretzke of Elizabethtown.
