“What I Will Be“

From the desk of the "Unknown Poet" here's another seasonal poem this one for the younger set.

“What I Will Be“
By: Don Xander

The time is quickly drawing near,
Halloween will soon be here.
There is a party to attend,
I was invited by my friend.
We’ll have candy, cake , and pizza too,
Soda, Cider, they’ll have that too.
There will be plenty to consume,
All I need is a costume.

So many choices go through my mind,
Just picking one is hard I find.
Should I be a Superhero?
Did that last year, so that’s a zero.
I don’t really want to boast,
But I would make a scary ghost.
How bout a werewolf, or Frankenstein?
Both of those would be just fine.

They pick a favorite costume choice,
It helps if you can add the voice.
I know cause I have often been,
But this time I would like to win!
I’m so excited, it’s hard to wait,
I have memorized the date.
I’ll say no more, so wait and see.
You can just guess “What I Will Be.”
