“A Prayer Of Thanksgiving”

Another seasonal poem from the desk of the Unknown Poet.

“A Prayer Of Thanksgiving”
By Donald Xander

As I look around the table,
I thank God that I am able.
To have my family around,
All are safe, all are sound.

Still I look around this room,
It is safe, that I assume.
It’s a good life that I’m living,
Thank you God for all you’ve given.

Never have I been in need,
Of something on which to feed.
Never clothing did I lack,
Thank you God, you had my back.

Sure I fell on some hard times,
But you were there to aid my climb.
In fact you never chose to hide,
You were always by my side.

I have had amenities,
I’ve enjoyed serenity.
Thank you God , for him who saved me,
Thank you for the life you gave me.

Thank you God, for family,
That has always stood by me.
Thank you God for being forgiving,
Thank you God, for this Thanksgiving!
