"the shortest poem in the world", Merritt Light
Many Patton graduates will remember Merritt Light as a teacher at Patton School. He and his wife lived in the apartment in Ranken Hall.
On PAGE THREE, in the rightmost column, about ⅔ of the way down of the October 17, 1931 edition of the FLASHLIGHT (the newspaper of the Mansfield State Teachers College) comes the following:
Merritt Light says the shortest poem in the world is
Adam
Had 'em.
(Written on the antiquity of microbes.)
