Robert C. Schafer, Jr., 68, of Annville passed away Friday, January 26, 2024 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Susan M. (Wittas) Schafer to whom he was married 28 years.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of Robert C., Sr., and Peggy (Vitelli) Schafer. Robert graduated from Elizabethtown High School and retired from the Masonic Village where he worked as a boiler operator. Robert served in the US Army with a rank of SP4 and was stationed in Germany for 3.5 of his 4 years in the service. He enjoyed hiking, gardening, and being outdoors in nature. Robert loved animals and woodworking and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Susan, he is survived by a son Jason Schafer and his fiancé Jennifer Emlet of Middletown, a daughter Cynthia Markley of Lancaster; nine grandchildren Savanna, Kaileib, Arian, Addison, Jaxin, Alana, Blake, Summer, and Isaiah; one great-grandson Timothy; one brother Anthony Schafer and wife Cheryl of Elizabethtown, and one sister Lisa Grosso of NJ. Robert was preceded in death by a daughter Tiffany Elizabeth Schafer, a brother Mark Schafer, and a sister Linda Schafer.
